The village of Farnham, built to house the estate workers, is still full of thatched and estate cottages and has an ‘untouched’ look. A short distance away are the Larmer Tree Gardens, created in the 1800s by General Pitt-Rivers, containing a number of unusual oriental buildings, including an open air theatre and Roman temple, providing today, as it did nearly two centuries ago, an exciting venue for live theatre, festivals and concerts.

Although off the beaten track, the house is only a ten minute stroll to the village pub, full of character and atmosphere with great food and drink. We are only 5 minutes by car from the Rushmore Golf Club situated in the heart of Rushmore Estate and a 10 minute drive from Compton Abbas Airfield & Flying Club where you can view the breath taking scenery by air.

We are very centrally located within a 30 minute drive to Poole, Bournemouth, Dorchester & Salisbury as well as short distance from The Saxon town of Shaftesbury, the Georgian town of Blandford Forum and the historic town of Wimborne Minster.
